Only months remain to stop global surveillance machine: conference of civil libertarians

Attempts to rein in the power of the NSA will have to originate outside the U.S.A.: Ben Wizner.

By Barrie Zwicker (Special to Truth and Shadows)
We know massive surveillance has nothing to do with actual terrorism – that it is all about control and eliminating dissent. We know that the surveillance state knows more about us than we ourselves know.
But do we know how long may be the window of opportunity to achieve some real curbs on runaway surveillance, before a New Dark Ages is entrenched beyond all resistance?
It could be only “a few months” in the opinion of Professor Andrew Clement of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information.
“If we don’t do something now,” Clement warns, “the opportunity will be missed, and we’ll regret it for a long time.”
Clement issued the warning at the fourth annual RightsWatch Conference of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA), presented this year in partnership with Ryerson University.
“Civil Liberties and Democracy in the Digital Age: Privacy, Media and Free Expression” was the title of this year’s conference, held in Toronto on Friday and Saturday, September 20th and 21st. Two dozen Canadian and U.S. civil libertarians and digital experts addressed the more than 200 who registered.
Glenn Greenwald will “run out of new information” in a few months, Clement predicted in the opening plenary session on Saturday. Greenwald is the American investigative reporter whose accounts of the revelations of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden appear mainly in the UK’s Guardian newspaper.
The consensus was that citizen pressure led by a coalition of organizations such as CCLA is the major hope to set back the drive by “intelligence” agencies to achieve their Kafkaesque goal of “continuously monitoring the life of everyone in the world every day with multiple algorithms.”
That goal was imputed by William Binnie, one of two Friday evening keynote speakers.
Binnie is a 32-year veteran of the National Security Agency who for several years has been among a few NSA whistle blowers whose warnings got little traction in the MSM until Edward Snowden’s revelations raised the ante. [2]
The other opening keynoter was Ben Wizner, director of the Speech, Privacy & Technology Project of the American Civil Liberties Union.
Binnie said the current state of surveillance capacity provides a “timeline” on everyone the spy agency has ever tracked. The timeline blends those individuals’ phone calls, emails, credit card transactions, travel details, social media exchanges, and more.
The NSA already has developed “graphs of social relationships” of all users of the world’s 2.5- to 3-billion telephones and the 1 billion persons with Internet ID’s, Binnie stated.
In response to the question “How long will it take the NSA to identify everyone attending this conference?” Binnie responded: “About 20 milliseconds.”
Wizner added that in addition to organized grassroots pressure, the juggernaut could be slowed by “heads of state cancelling visits to Washington, D.C.” Binnie quipped that many in Washington refer to D.C. as “the District of Corruption.”
That U.S. corruption is so deeply entrenched was further underscored by Wizner when he stated flatly that the impetus for trimming the wings of the NSA and other such agencies “will have to originate outside of the U.S.A.”
Binnie offered the sobering opinion that whatever brakes are put on the NSA’s spying on American citizens, the NSA “will never give up spying on all the rest of the world.” Wizner seconded the motion: “We (in the U.S.A.) cannot stop foreign dragnetting.”
This added to the impact of technical information provided on Saturday by Clement. It was new to me and I think many if not most of the others in attendance.
He outlined the practice of “boomerang routing” of digital communications that originate in Canada and end in Canada but follow a roundabout path through U.S. data centres sucked dry 24/7 by the NSA.
As one instance Clement cited all communications between Canada’s National Research Council and the Prime Minister’s office. These are routed through New York and Washington, District of Corruption. Closer to home, all communications between Ryerson University, where the conference was held, and The University of Toronto, travel through New York and Chicago. The digital myth that I’d bought into until Clement’s presentation was that no one controlled the route of an email, for instance, that it was random.
Random, schmandom. Clement said there’s “strong reason” to suspect that Bell and Rogers are handing over their traffic to “boomerang routes,” hiding behind “carrier interconnection policies.” Canadian carriers offer no transparency about this, Clement said. Transparency is necessary but not sufficient, he added.
A four-page pamphlet available at the conference, “Has the NSA Read Your Email?” provides a means of shedding light on that question. By going to www.IXMAPS.CA you can use “custom trace-route visualization techniques to show the path that packets take from the user’s device to their destination across the Internet ‘backbone.’ These path maps show where the NSA has likely intercepted your packets and which carriers are involved.”
Canadian “boomerang” routing is particularly highlighted, showing “where packets start in Canada and end in Canada, but travel via the USA and NSA surveillance.” An introductory video on this issue can be found at http://vimeo.com/67102223
The much-touted purpose of surveillance systems being to “catch terrorists” should not be accepted, Clement said. “It lets people off the hook because they’re not terrorists. The system is not designed to find terrorists – a few singular individuals. It’s much better at managing populations, at finding people with ‘odd political views,’ views that challenge government.”
Clement declared: “Moving online should not compromise the privacy we’ve enjoyed historically.”
He added: “The statement that, ‘If you’ve done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear’ works both ways. It also applies to [spy] organizations. If they’ve done nothing wrong, why would they want to hide what they’re doing? Return the gaze. Hold those organizations to account. Resist asymmetry.”
The trend for laws regarding surveillance to serve the surveillers, moving from “reasonable grounds” to “reasonable suspicion,” was noted with alarm. “It scares the crap out of me,” said Valerie Steeves, an associate professor in the Department of Criminology at The University of Ottawa.
What I took from the conference was that however intrusive you believe the surveillance state has become, it has metastacized even more than that. That impression was buttressed by the fact that none of those in attendance – speakers or audience – took issue with Clement or with the revelations and opinions of other speakers, including keynoters Binnie and Wizner.
Regarding the citing of “terrorist threats” as justification for massive spying, “more people have been killed by their furniture than by terrorists,” Wizner observed. [3]
The current capacity of the NSA is made possible by a two-step (or “two-hop”) process, Binnie said. This is surveillance of “suspicious persons” (think yourself) and in turn those you’re in touch with. This is sufficient to catch all genuine terrorists, Binnie stated.
NSA officials, however, recently testified that they have developed the capacity for “three-hop” collection. This means gathering at least metadata on you that includes the identities of all those persons and organizations you ever have been in communication with (one hop), as well as the same information on all those others (second hop) which includes the identities of all those that they in turn have been and are in communication with (third hop).
The “hops” are exponential. If Binnie is right that within 10 years the NSA, if not held in check, will essentially go four-hop, it would mean that those in control of the U.S. Empire will know more about almost everyone than almost anyone knows about himself or herself.
If knowledge is power, this would be atomic power in both senses of atomic. The scope and complexity of neural networks revealed with this much expansion might be beyond them, but that does not mean that they won’t try.
Binnie’s conclusion: “They know what’s coming. They’re prepared. We better be prepared too.”
Post Script: During the Q & A of the Friday keynote session I asked Binnie: “Can you list, say, three reasons why – at least to my knowledge – NSA whistleblowers seldom if ever question the official narrative of the events of 9/11. Let me say that I for one can think of one good reason, namely that questioning the official narrative in public virtually guarantees that one will be instantly labeled as a conspiracy theorist in the mainstream media, something of a kiss of death for one’s credibility… But it’s your reasons that I’m interested in hearing.”
Binnie replied: “I can say that they suppressed certain information that could have prevented it.” This brief response could be taken as implying that Binnie accepts the official version of 9/11. But an insightful colleague later commented: “It was an interesting reply, in that he might have been suggesting a great deal in a seemingly bland answer.” I like to think that is so.

  1. Thank you Barrie, for this report on the conference.
There is much to consider here, and likely much to discuss once the information sinks in from a few re-readings.
Most pressing is the issue of “how long until we are past the stage of having the ability to effectively respond to the surveillance state”?
Some might argue that it is beyond that point already, and has been for some time. The most effective argument for that opinion is that it is only the few “intellectuals” such as those attending such conferences as this who are even paying attention.
Others may counter, citing Brzezinski, and his statements alluding to the elites being in a state of panic that the general populations are awakening too quickly for the fruition of the elite agenda to be completed without the engineering of great calamity and violence to achieve their Machiavellian aims.
But both of those options are zero sum gain. If Brzezinski’s warnings are correct, the Power Elite will see no choice but mass culling:
During a 2010 Council on Foreign Relations speech in Montreal Brzezinski stated that “the major world powers, new and old, also face a novel reality: while the lethality of their military might is greater than ever, their capacity to impose control over the politically awakened masses of the world is at a historic low. To put it bluntly: in earlier times, it was easier to control one million people than to physically kill one million people; today, it is infinitely easier to kill one million people than to control one million people,”
If this paints a picture of being between a rock and a hard place…well, it seems to be the actual situation.
All I can say is that, we are all Mr Jones; in that “we know something is happening, but we don’t know what it is”… as there are, as always “cosmic issues” to consider in all of this.

  2. Dear Mr. Zwicker,
Interesting article. The surveillance state was in full swing BEFORE 9/11/2001. Most of the aparatus was in place, having been started under previous administrations with other names, like Echelon and Carnivore. Yet another red flag about 9/11 not being what the gov said it was, because they could monitor (with FISA court rubber-stamping) anyone, including suspicious foreigners pegged by various agencies (but obstructed by agency heads.) I’m still reading Kevin Ryan’s book, and I find it fascinating the connections he makes between organizations, their leaders, and agendas.
The following is my wild-ass speculation, but back in the late 1990’s when Microsoft was getting its ass chewed for its monolopostic practices, when the Justice Department had them up against the wall, and when by rights Microsoft should have been split into three entities (operating system, office apps, browser), Microsoft got off with a hand slap. I speculate that Microsoft gave the operating system back door keys to the government as part of their plea. [I am still pissed that Microsoft purposely built IE into their operating system as a hedge to help avoid the split-up.]
Until I landed a job closer, I worked briefly in the mid-2000’s for a cable television, internet, and telephone provider where there was hush-hush talk of a neighboring building with our company logo and equipment that none of my co-worker ever entered again once it was running. Its security had nothing to do with redundancy or back-up for the services, because those systems we knew about and administered.
This highlights a problem. It isn’t as if it was in my or my co-worker’s best interest to be raising a red-flag to others. And to whom? In general, we knew on which side our bread was buttered on. As brought to our intimate attention through lay-off’s, we were but replacable cogs in the much larger machine. Our individual contributions were tiny and only maybe exciting in a nerdy way. Incremental steps.
Recently, the Guardian posted an interview from July on Seymour Hersh

[Seymour Hersh] is certain that NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden “changed the whole nature of the debate” about surveillance. Hersh says he and other journalists had written about surveillance, but Snowden was significant because he provided documentary evidence – although he is sceptical about whether the revelations will change the US government’s policy.
“Duncan Campbell [the British investigative journalist who broke the Zircon cover-up story], James Bamford [US journalist] and Julian Assange and me and the New Yorker, we’ve all written the notion there’s constant surveillance, but he [Snowden] produced a document and that changed the whole nature of the debate, it’s real now,” Hersh says.
“Editors love documents. Chicken-shit editors who wouldn’t touch stories like that, they love documents, so he changed the whole ball game,” he adds, before qualifying his remarks.

The quotes about “documents” were eye opening to me. Worse, it hints at what we can expect as technology goes forward into our paperless society. What will be considered damning “documents” for “chicken-shit editors” when all is electronic, and when even Barack Obama’s PDF birth certificate on the whitehouse.gov is proven tainted? Just like the yellow-cake documents to get a war in Iraq were proven tainted (by Ambassador Wilson).

  3. Most interesting is the end of the article. Leaders and experts in civil liberties and privacy rights excel at grandstanding against excessive state surveillance and other measures inspired by the fear of terrorism, yet do not seem to mind them, otherwise they would teach the basics of 9/11.
It bears remembering that since the Master 9/11 conspirators had the once-in-history inspiration to televise live the false flag’s key event, the criminal controlled demolition of the twin towers under evacuation, anybody with an average intelligence and a modest education can quickly, with minimal assistance, see through the silly fairy tale that attributes 9/11 to Osama bin Laden’s fanatical hijackers.
And this leads to the finding that the above-mentioned leaders and experts are more dangerous to humanity than Obama and his accomplices. Under the pretenses of caring for the common good and countering folly with reason, they keep sending their gullible followers on wild goose chases that 9/11 would nullify.
If and when enough rank-and-file civil libertarians understand that their leaders are criminals against humanity for their participation in the continued obfuscation of 9/11, they may break the 9/11 censorship. This in turn, if channeled properly, may usher humanity out of the war system and into a once-in-history paradigm shift.
    Love,

  4. “This is sufficient to catch all genuine terrorists, Binnie stated.”
“We know massive surveillance has nothing to do with actual terrorism – that it is all about control and eliminating dissent….”~Barrie Zwicker
    . . . . . .
Apparently there is a gap in who “we” is here. And that is what bothers me about such institutional diagnosis as goes on in such conferences as this. There isn’t even internal continuity of cognition.
Regarding the citing of “terrorist threats” as justification for massive spying, “more people have been killed by their furniture than by terrorists,” Wizner observed.
So are Wizner and Binnie anywhere near the same page here? This is why I continually warn against the assumption of “consensus” – there is an obvious diversion of views here just between these two speakers.
It brings my mind back to Julian Jaynes, and his commentary on ‘Consciousness’ – and how difficult it is to even define that. At times the world seems to be an allegory of the Tower of Babel — each speaking his own language, and hearing others as if they speak that lexicon as well…talking to reflections in the mirror rather than communicating.
As far as Binnie’s comment on 9/11, I think Barrie read him correctly, and that his “insightful companion” is grasping at non-existent straws.

  5. MIHOP. LIHOP. now 3HOPs leading to 4HOP by which time we are well down with Alice.
From ‘reasonable grounds’ to ‘reasonable suspicion’ is a deep Law-shift. “I suspect you’ is sinisterly different from ‘I produce evidence in support of suspecting you’. Stalin and Winston SMITH will attest to this. Not that failure to produce evidence ever stopped the criminal elites in their track. In fact I think it acts as a musk……it attracts them.
Interesting furniture being made in USA these days (3). Not only more likely to kill you than terrorists, but, used as fuel, will bring down complex multi columned steel framed high rises at FREE FALL turning hundreds of acres of concrete flooring into ppm DUST in mid-air AND get into the literature as legitimate building science all at the same time.
The failure of the intellectual/investigative elites to hold 911 to account is the template. Has corrupted or directed the thinking so fundamentally, that the emboldened PNAC extremist philosophy appears normal, moderate and ‘reactive’ (R2P/the ‘good-guys’), rather than covert, pre-emptive or causative. But, because its malevolence is so extreme, it has also opened itself up for real identification. For real witness. Which is where we are at right now.

  6. Senor El Once makes an important point, deserving of thoughtful reflection by all of us in the 9/11Truth movement. He writes: “The surveillance state was in full swing BEFORE 9/11/2001. Most of the apparatus was in place, having been started under previous administrations with other names, like Echelon and Carnivore.”
This observation is fleshed out brilliantly by John McMurtry, a professor emeritus at the University of Guelph in Canada, in his paper “The Moral Decoding of 9-11: Beyond the U.S. Criminal State.” It was published in the Journal of 9/11 Studies (Volume 35, February 2013).
A basic point McMurtry makes is that undue focus on 9/11 can obscure a larger and deeper truth: that a life-destroying system was in place before and during 9/11 — and continues after.
McMurtry’s observation does not invalidate all 9/11Truth research, thinking and activism. But it is worth contemplating as to the perspective we bring to the issue and enormity of 9/11.
Just two quotes from McMurtry’s paper: “The pre-2001 rising and unarmed global insurgency of the civil commons for peace, for social life security, for human rights, for real food, for protection of the environment, for everything that has been dispossessed by the supranational corporate rights system has been rolled over by the 9/11 turn.
“2001 was the turning point after unilateral transnational corporate rights over markets and resources were established as absolute over legislatures through the 1990’s with a rising tide of global opposition joining into all movements to protect and enable human and natural life against the eyeless transnational money-sequence juggernauts of immiserisation.
“9/11 was strategically ideal to stop the human tides of awakening and common action because it ruled out all political resistance to the supreme moral goal.
“But the dots are not joined back to the ultimate value program even by 9/11 unbelievers. Attention has become fixed, rather, on the foreground operations and contradictions with the official conspiracy doctrine… What is required is logico-moral understanding of the institutional act of 9/11 as strategically rational from the regulating value system of global money-sequence rule.
“This is the ultimately ruling moral disorder, and it instrumentalizes and attacks human and natural life and life support systems to grow itself with no limit or regulation by life requirements. 9/11 embodies and exemplifies the supreme moral program in action to full spectrum control, consumption and profit by force of arms wherever it can.
“But its inner axiology evades recognition. Its agents no more examine or question it than the players of a kill-all video game. And its opponents have not penetrated its meta program or the principled life-ground to steer beyond it at the system level.”
Shortly after that he writes: Neither Left nor Right has cracked the life code and the money code at war which determines the fate of the planet.”
These passages are also relevant to Dan Noel’s comments and his general approach which he has shared several times on this blog.

  7. Thanks Barrie, for writing this, and to Craig for posting it. It is quite bizarre, how even whistleblowers don’t go there with 9/11. Julian Assange referred to 9/11 truth as an “annoying” conspiracy theory. (Well, I suppose there actually is truth in that; just not in the way Assange means.) I wish Snowden would have the courage to step forth there. He’s in Russia though, and Putin is also not friendly to 9/11 truth (probably because it shows how any government can be unimaginably corrupt, including Putin’s) so maybe Snowden is afraid he’d get blindsided into a deportation or something.
As for the surveillance state, I think openness is the best antidote to it; hence I use my real name with my 9/11 activism. That way, if something happens to me, people will learn about it and they’ll talk.
Just today, Jessie said if he were President, he’d pardon Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden immediately.

  8. ” its opponents have not penetrated its meta program or the principled life-ground to steer beyond it at the system level.”Neither Left nor Right has cracked the life code and the money code at war which determines the fate of the planet.”
True enough. 911 is part of a pre-existing and ongoing program. But it is the eye of the needle. Practical -evidential – focus on the deception of 911 appears the most coherent path to illuminate the larger and deeper life-destroying force surrounding its ‘success’ as a deep-state operation. If 911 was its vector, then break 911 , PROVE the LIE, and the life-code or meta program becomes identifiable at that profound level. The paradigm shifts.

  9. They say that the surveillance cameras are for our own protection but they are very careless, frequently losing crucial footage of terrorist attacks. Sometimes the cameras aren’t even working! Just look at the Pentagon, OKC, the Princess Diana “tunnel” cam, 7/7 London underground cams and the WTC roof cams.
How about the Dulles Airport cams that allegedly caught the “hijackers” yet not one peep from families or the media demanding to see the “last movements” of Barbara Olsen or any other passengers?
It’s as if the cameras had a mind of their own…
    Barrie says

9/11 was strategically ideal to stop the human tides of awakening and common action because it ruled out all political resistance to the supreme moral goal.

    Bingo.
During the Reagan and Clinton administrations, what with the spotlight being firmly shone on the antics of IranContra, TWA800, Waco, OKC, international drug running (Gary Webb, Mena), White House child abuse and prostitution scandals, Exxon, exposure of the tip of the “experimentation” iceberg, to name but a few, how many here can say that 9/11 didn’t blow all of this out of the public conscience?
Public apologists and their mouthpiece media were being stretched in all directions. How easy was it for them to concentrate all of their energy on one, albeit colossal issue? Even going as far as blatantly lying to us about Iraq and “topping up” the affair by callously murdering more people in London and Madrid using the same MO.
The pre 9/11 era needs to be revisited. That entire century of “history” needs to be revised and retold. Only then will we have any hope of persuading the “masses” of looking at 9/11 from a different perspective.

  10. Trauma Based Programming: This is what a PSYOP is meant to achieve. Trauma creates static in the cognitive system, neural roadblocks, leading to hysterical patterns of thought.
Again, what we are faced with as a species in the postmodern era is an electronic necromancy. The problem persists because it is not simply “reason” alone that we must deal with. We are faced with an emotionally damaged society. The raging emotions cannot be reached by reasoning alone.
The immiseration is and has been an ongoing agenda for “governance” from the time of the ‘Chief-Shaman’ nexus of tribal cultures. These techniques are “super-sized” by high technologies, both scientific and “psychological”.
Proper answers can only be derived from proper questions. The right answer is inherent in the right question. What we need is the properly framed question. The properly framed answer will follow naturally.
I would say that one of the core questions for a maturation of humanity is:
Is the “State” a necessary evil for a society seeking a peaceful and satisfying existence?

  11. Further regarding these recent thoughtful posts about the need for paradigm shift, my heart and soul (I use the latter term deliberately but expecting and enjoying it will be decoded reader by reader) yearn for unmistakeable evidence of a global consciousness-raising — what Steve Baehrman, (a.k.a. Swami Beyondananda) calls “an upwising.” But my mind, dammit, keeps popping up behind me like a grungy urchin and chimes in “Don’t hold your breath, buster.” But then my mind, heart and soul become more or less aligned again behind Fremo’s returning to 9/11 as the pivot point. And, as I’ve always thought, also the Achilles Heel of the diaboligarchy even paradoxically as it is the diaboligarchs’ greatest success, their #1 hit in their centuries-long hit parade of false flag ops.
A lengthy opinion piece in the UK Guardian today (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/03/edward-snowden-files-john-lanchester) is interesting and important on at least three counts and relates the discussion on this thread arising from the RightsWatch conference.
One count is that the author is John Lanchester, hardly a severe critic of the military-intelligence establishment.
Another is that his piece is based on the fact that the Guardian flew him to the USA to look at a large bundle of data from GCHQ provided to The Guardian by Edward Snowden. GCHQ, I think all here will know, is the Brit equivalent of the NSA. And this is the same info that the Brit authorities forced the Guardian to destroy. With hammers. As if that solved the authorities’ problem with The Guardian and with Snowden and with the universe and everything.
The third count is that Lanchester, even though he started out believing that nation states have rights to a lot of secrecy, and by his own words still accepts much of the war-on-terror nonsense, ends up extremely alarmed at what he learned.
Two passages from his piece relate directly to the RightsWatch conference. First is a more memorable and enhanced way of looking at the assertion that “they know more about us than we know about ourselves” issue. Lanchester writes:
“Add to this the fact that a lot of this electronic potential gives access not just to external real-world data – our locations, our conversations, our contacts books – but to the inside of our heads. I call this the “knowing you’re gay” test. Most of us know someone who has plucked up the courage to reveal their homosexuality, only to be cheerfully told by friends and family, “oh, we’ve known that for years”.
“Now, though, search engines know facts about people’s thoughts and fantasies long before anyone else does. To put it crudely, Google doesn’t just know you’re gay before you tell your mum; it knows you’re gay before you do. And now GCHQ does too.”
The second buttresses Prof. Clement’s warning of an only months-long window of opportunity to clip the wings of the massive spymasters. Lanchester writes:
“We are right on the verge of being an entirely new kind of human society, one involving an unprecedented penetration by the state into areas which have always been regarded as private. Do we agree to that? If we don’t, this is the last chance to stop it happening.”

  12. >”I get all that. It doesn’t thrill me to bits that the state has to use the tools of electronic surveillance to keep us safe, but it seems clear to me that it does, and that our right to privacy needs to be qualified, just as our other rights are qualified, in the interest of general security and the common good.”~Lanchester
    . . . . . .
There is a lot to say about Lanchester’s article in the Guardian that Barrie leads us to above. In fact so much that it would likely take a book length exposition to cover the epistemic, philosophical, and theological errors that I see in his position.
Just this first quote above is to my thinking; simple lunacy. It is the disconnect of postmodern man, that does not recognize that Rights and Security are bound like Liberty and Justice. When ‘security’ of the individual is given over to the oversight of others beyond that individual’s control – or even that individual’s comprehension, it is only the ‘security’ of an abstract notion called a “community” or a “state”. It is in leaving practical and solid reality for such abstractions that is the epistemic error. (as I mentioned, to put these issues to a complete argument would take a lot of pages and a lot of time.)~ww
    … … … …
    >”What this means is that we’re moving towards a new kind of society. Britain is already the most spied on, monitored and surveilled democratic society there has ever been. This doesn’t seem to have been discussed or debated, and I don’t remember ever being asked to vote for it. As for how this trend appears in the GCHQ documents, there is something of a gap between how the spies talk in public and how they can occasionally be found to talk in private.”~Lanchester
I disagree. What this means is that we are moving to the high tech fruition of the same kind of society that has been pressed upon us since the days of Bernays and Lippmann. This talk of “democracy” – “democratic society” is worse than Orwellian, it is Wilsonian doublethink and Newspeak. And yes I speak to Woodrow Wilson the former “president”.
Anyone who can still speak to “democracy” and not recognize that there is only one kind that has existed on this planet since Ancient Greece is simply and utterly uninformed. This one and only form is Bernaysian Democracy, one based on the manufacture of ‘consent’ by a manipulative Public Relations Regime.
I bid anyone who does not comprehend this to read the first chapter of Bernays’ book, PROPAGANDA, wherein he lays this out in no uncertain terms. And then read Walter Lippman’s, PUBLIC OPINION for a refresher course.
All of this to say that the popular conception of “democracy” is a finely tuned Myth. And it has never been anything other than a myth.
Lanchester complains, “I don’t remember ever being asked to vote for it.”
Of course not! The naïvete of this remark is spectacular coming from a so-called intellectual such as Lanchester! It is as if the man wishes to make a satire of himself.
Regardless of all of the deep-state history that Lanchester is obviously in utter ignorance of, there is this academiac jejune posing that is simply maddening to behold.

  13. Now that it is shown that Admiral Poindexter’s ‘Total Awareness’ policy is coming to fruition, let us not pretend that this surveillance state is not the same state that has a public strategic policy of, Full Spectrum Dominance. These issues cannot be unlinked and spoken to as separate matters.

‘US Cyber Command’s Plan X: Pentagon Launching Covert Cyber Attacks’ By Tom Burghardt – Global Research, October
    03, 2013
“Rather than deploying an “af.mil” botnet against Iran’s civilian nuclear infrastructure at Natanz, they unleashed a destructive digital worm, Stuxnet. In the largest and most sophisticated attack to date, more than 1,000 centrifuges were sent spinning out of control, “no more useful” to Iranian physicists “than hunks of metal and plastic.”
A line had been crossed, and by the time security experts sorted things out, they learned that Stuxnet and its cousins, Duqu, Flame and Gauss, were the most complex pieces of malware ever designed, the opening salvo in the cyberwar that has long-guided the fevered dreams of Pentagon planners.
    ‘Plan X’
Today, that destructive capability exists under the umbrella of US Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), one which has the potential of holding the world hostage.
Last year the Pentagon allocated $80 million dollars to defense giant Lockheed Martin for ongoing work on the National Cyber Range (NCR), a top secret facility that designs and tests attack tools for the government.”~Burghardt

    1. The more I look at the different angles, the more I see the NSA metadata as a honing in device on their most outspoken critics, those of us skirting dangerously about the real truth. Activists. People who can’t be bought.
It’s hardly for “counter terrorism”. There may be a demand for gauging public opinion. Spying on the criminal competition. But that’s chicken feed.
The more likely reason is an impersonal, non physical and remote source of blackmail. On a global scale.
Simultaneously they would be accumulating “data” on those within the military, civil service and political landscape, for example. They can be controlled and threatened to tow the line.
Think back to how this may have been the case with the alleged child porn “found” on multiple computers in the Pentagon.
Think of how many skeletons in the closet these people have. Married men having affairs (male or female), credit card receipts, private messages, dodgy under the counter payments in to separate bank accounts, tax evasion. The possibilities are endless.

      1. Dear Mr. OneSliceShort,
Now that you put it that way, I agree. Sad state of affairs.
We know that the blackmail theme has been there. They did it to President Clinton. I think it is why so many intelligent and influential people from politics to media to agencies have acted the ignorant and know-nothing on 9/11, “Oh, really! You don’t say? An insider conspiracy on 9/11? How quaint. Let me tighten the chin straps on your tin-foil hat, because your brain is getting too much oxygen. Meanwhile, observeth thou how my wallet overfloweth, and thine does not. Bountiful are the rewards for going along.”
Gives new meaning to one’s permanent record.

        Google “Operation Moonlight”.
Find much on it? The alleged period of the last century where human experimentation (MKUltra and its seedy offspring), DEA (George White), the MAFIA and a two way mirror and cameras were set up in San Francisco and New York (just two sites that we know of) got together literally under one roof.
They claimed that this was an experiment to see how prostitutes could extract information from clients spiked with LSD.
        Uh huh.
These houses allegedly operated for a minimum of ten years! I think after one night the experiment could have been wrapped up, no? Client freaked, case closed. It was a blackmail operation, full stop.

“It was Richard Helms, Deputy Director of the CIA, Dr. Gottlieb, Capt. George White and Morse Allen who all planned on filming as many high government and agency officials, and heads of academic institutions and foundations as possible. “

Just my 2cents here, but I believe that what started off as a search for foolproof interrogation techniques, the search for a programmed assassin or for the “perfect” chemical weapon, branched off into a global blackmail racket with the added “bonus” of creating and experimenting with DID personalities that were created. A self sustaining factory of filth.

      3. Dear Mr. OneSliceShort,
Interesting videos that run parallel to other themes I’ve researched a tiny bit below the surface. Has me contemplating many things.
The extent to which one is blackmailable maybe defines promotability as well. I have hazy recollections of many I’ve run across in my zig-zag career path, and why their career advanced despite more recklessness in their lifestyles. I used to call it “connections.” But maybe it was more of a “party-brothers clique,” and if you provided entertainment value to the decision-makers, opportunity opened for you.

I’ve been doing a lot of research lately on the international cover ups on human trafficking, drugs and pedophile networks. We know that where the cockroaches frequent, a necessary element is the manipulation and control of the criminal cartels.
Heroin is a what, $80 billion global commodity. Human trafficking is also a commodity on a much lower scale. Both traffic lines are protected. But pedophilia? Child prostitution? Child pornography?
There is a seedy underbelly that pays large amounts of money to enter this world, but it’s still a fraction of the drug trade. The US and European governments go out on a limb to protect abusers, deny and manipulate statistics and vilify the victims. I’ve seen where pedophile rings have been exposed and hundreds if not thousands of clients, mostly from middle to upper tiers of society have been mentioned (google Zandvoort pedo ring for one example) at the outset of these “busts”. Just look at the Washington pedo prostitute ring of the 90s.
Famous entities, business people, politicians, military figures, media, clergy, etc are being protected (and later blackmailed). In all likelihood, some of these names are already being blackmailed but are allowed to do what they do under state protection. If it is the latter, what better way to buy loyalty and silence even when these entities are stuck between a rock and a hard place to protect information or names of those controlling them and their actions in whatever place they have in sociiety? Or to accept jail time? Loyalty, morality, politics, basic humanity and even fear are taken out of the equation.
There are a lot of dots to put together when looking at the pure filth that has been permitted towards the end of the last 40 years of the last century but you can scrape away the layers of anarchy, disinfo and apparent randomness and see the practical use of what is in effect a wanton, depraved, immoral business cult. Money oils the cogs but blackmail and this sordid “loyalty” on an industrial scale are the main rewards.

      5. I was living in LA when the McMartin case blew open…
KPFK, the Pacifica station was still under local and noncorporate influenced control.
They had ongoing coverage of the case, and it was very obvious that big time names were involved floating in the background.
When the Internet came along I took to researching it all over again. Spill over stains were everywhere. The horror is global and suckled by high elites indeed.

      6. Dear Mr. OneSliceShort,
I have little doubt that what you write is true. Parallelisms to my own haphazard and stalled research, that I lack the fortitude to pursue too deeply, let alone broadcast, preferring the cacoon of my humble family existence. What you compile, I will read and applaud, as you’ve proven trustworthy and upstanding.
Might I suggest for your research effort the Vatic Project and contacting the Vatic Master, herself. These are deep rabbit holes that she has explored. She’s just as bat-shit crazy as me, albeit more paranoid, but in a stage of her life without the baggage that I have.
The Vatic Project mostly re-publishes articles from other sources for the fair-use purposes of criticism and commentary. [And because if the article was just linked and wasn’t copied, it could disappear from “the internets.”] I helped set down all sorts of guidelines with regards to crediting the original author and linking to the source. The label thing kind of went haywire, so hasn’t reflected the true contents of the blog for a couple of years or more.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I am/was associated with the Vatic Project, but lots of factors from (1) time commitment to (2) burn-out to (3) depression from contemplating deeper significance the rabbit holes if even only partially true to (4) my own impotence with respect to the potential scale of things has had me downshift my involvement.

      8. Dear Mr. OneSliceShort, you wrote:

I am a Mason (3 degrees). I’m technically a member of three blue lodges, active in two, but today it is more ramping down participation in one in order to ramp up (a tiny bit) my participation in another. I have received both the York Rite degrees (9, I think) and the Scottish Rite degrees (29), technically making me a 41 degree Master Mason [with the caveat that a 33rd degree Master Mason is an honorary degree of Scottish Rite that I do not have], but counting degrees as I have done is not how we Masons roll and is mention here as more of a joke. Any concerted involvement with York Rite or Scottish Rite will have to wait until my retirement, and it’ll probably be at my wife’s urging to get me out of the house and out of her hair.
Masonry is a good organization. Throughout its long history, it has for sure at various points in time been infiltrated and manipulated, but not its core values and lessons. Masonry has been on a decline since the 1970’s (or earlier), and I suspect that for the most part and in general (but with room for localized exceptions in the US and then by country) the infiltration moved on to other organizations exhibiting more influence and power in the immediate society, like, say, the Republican Party, (the Democratic Party), [name a Christian Fundamentalist Religion here], the military, alphabet-soup agencies, [name a fortune 500 company], the Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg, etc. Various states or regions have their Grand Lodges presiding over local lodges, but there is no over-arching Super-Dooper Grand Poo-Bah [not a Masonic term but a Fred Flintstone term] presiding over those state’s (or region’s) Grand Lodges, least of all one connecting lodges from different countries and directing them to walk in lock-step or think a certain way.
The jokes I tell about “Masons taking over the world” relate to the fact that today, we Masons [in my neck of the woods] can’t hold a BBQ pot-luck without massive assistance from our wives. Conspiracies? Yeah, well, if bat-shit crazy me doesn’t bring them up, they aren’t much of an interest, and I’m more likely to just hear my own lips flapping, so like politics and religion it becomes something not discussed.
YMMV and local lodges might be discovered that do not match my experience (12 years, plus DeMolay in my youth).
In summary, the view from the inside isn’t what the thrillers and movies depict [and it isn’t bad or nefarious, either. My one disappointment.] Such books & movies entertain us the same way they do anybody else, only we have the benefit of knowing when the script is pulling a fast one and get to laugh about it. Think about the stereotypical representation of [name of a nationality] in the movies and you’ll understand where we laugh at the hits and misses of “pegging us.”
        On a related tangent:
As is common, the secretary of one of my lodges received a trestle board from another lodge, this one from Maryland, and he brought it to the lodge’s attention. In it was an article about Masonic charity extending to a victim of the Boston Marathon bombing, Erika Brannock, who lost a leg and needed handicap renovations to her home.
The conspiratorial part of me says my brothers were duped and used to the tune of $10k, all the way up to the Grand Master of Maryland, although their charity does make a good story and “was covered extensively by the news media.” But I don’t know for sure about the duping, because I don’t know for sure about this victim, making me the duped useful idiot for even contemplating such thoughts. Oh well. If I lived closer, I’d use my Masonic connections to valid or debunk my conspiracy suspicions on this topic.
        // YMMV

      9. Clarification of my one [masonic] disappointment.
I really meant to say that not learning any new conspiracies (ongoing and active) and instead learning that masons were not at the center of it all, pulling the strings of the world, these were my disappointments. It would have been such a relief to my conscience to finally discover the truth and definitively be able to point my finger and say, “Ah, ha! I knew it! The rumors were true!”
Instead I find myself just a humble member of a good organization which lends itself to my continued circumscribed participation.
        //

      10. Señor
On hindsight it was a bad idea including freemasons in general with that crowd mentioned. I should have expanded. Freemasonry in Ireland, Scotland and England have been used for years by police, judiciary and governmental bodies to circle the wagons whenever called upon. I was referring more to the “old boys clubs” set up within freemasonry. The David Kelly murder (WMD lie whistleblower) was a prime example of this. Kiddy killer Thomas Hamilton (Dunblane massacre) is another.
Masonic elements covered up, stalled, shredded and got their stories “straight”.
Northern Irish freemasons in the form of the “Orange Order” were part and parcel of a Gladio type operation (false flags, military collusion in sectarian murders, financial system, judiciary, cops, you name it).
What I’m trying to say is that secret societies can and will be used under the banner of “the common good” or “status quo”. All the nefarious elements need is a foothold within these groups, a shower of promises and a banner to rally around.
I don’t go along with branding entire organizations as “in on it”. That some are “in on it” (“it” being local to high level cover ups), others are “unknowingly in on it” and others still are covering tangential internal scams that have nothing to do with “it”, is the attraction of these bodies. Rabbit holes created without hands getting dirty.
Now imagine blackmail and the influence of the other scumbag entities mentioned in my previous post tightening their grip on these organizations within organizations.
I know I’m preaching to the choir at this point!
I’ve read a researcher’s breakdown of how one (of several) pedophile ring infiltrated English social services starting with the infiltration of a home for troubled kids by one person. Gradually pedophiles from all walks of life were made aware of this, applied and were hired. Everything from liaison officers to janitors to wardens. From regional advisers to local council and government level. Some actually got on boards with access to files on the hundreds of kids who were being abused, the evidence against the abusers, who was informing and a compilation of the easiest of victims – those who were psychologically damaged. Some even got into positions where they could (fucking) recommend the “sentences” handed down to offenders.
Again, I’m not comparing the freemasons with pedophile rings. Just pointing out how similar the “pyramid” systems abused by infiltrators are.

      11. As far as generalizing about “Free Masonry” I can agree that there is a matter of an upper echelon of those “in the know” and then there is the rank and file.
We probably all know the history of the cult of the Knights Templar, and the death of De Molay, and the invention of the central banking houses of western Europe of that period.
The “infiltration” therefore is by the innocent who become part of something they are not wholly aware of, and many lodges may be staffed an run entirely of these “uninitiated” – into the core secrets that is.
Many of my family members are Masons of one degree or another. Only a few distant relatives have achieved any political renown. Most are just the average family men.
But there does remain to this very day – especially in Europe, the darker lodges. A fairly recent example being the P2 Lodge of Lucio Gelli {Propagande Duo} and it’s nefarious connections to the Vatican. This was the organization that lead the original Gladio ops and is connected intimately with NATO yet today.
But it is true, that the real powers are more in the “hidden in plane site” organizations such as the CFR, Trilateral Commission, Bilderbergers, even the US military organizations…ala The Pentagon…wholly an occult structure based on the Pentagram and all that signifies.
I would say that rather than speak to this all as “the Masons” that the key structure would be the ILLUMINATI by whatever brand name we might like to choose as a contemporary logo. And that is based on the Jesuit structure, which is actually a Sionist/Zionist template of the same period as the Knights Templar, the era of the Crusades.
The distinguishing feature of all of it is the dictum; “might is right”, and this flows from the ancient past of the Pharaohs to the semi-modern Protocols of Zion, and of course to the postmodern period of Full Spectrum Dominance of the open tyranny seen in the world today.

        Cheers lads.

      13. “The “protocols” have been labelled a fraud but so far reading them, particularly regarding “puppet presidents” and propaganda, they’ve been right on the button so far.”~OSS
Yes, you rather answered your question yourself there OSS. As I have noted before, the only way to successfully predict the future is to engineer it.
There is a lot to say about the Protocols – it would take an entire thread to sort it out properly. But I think one of the most important books written in the 20th century is; THE CONTROVERSY OF ZION by Douglas Reed. And most fortunately it is available as a free PDF – all you need to is copy the title and authors name right from this comment and put it in your browser bar.
The history revealed by Reed is footnoted, and thorough. The controversy of the authenticity of the Protocols is covered very well. It was actually claimed to be a plagiarism – not a fraud in the since that it was made up out of whole cloth.
The problems are many concerning these charges – some of the biggest are that there is not just one set of Protocols, but many that have been established throughout history. It is a fact that Adam Wieshaupt worked from an earlier version when he was writing the manifesto for the ILLUMINATI. And this references even earlier versions.
These so-called “Elders” span generations and centuries. The modern version from the 20s is updated in the 30s to discuss modernized modes of communications, such as radio. The main template of an agenda for the creation of a total central power is constant, only the technological means are updated.
It should be noted that first and foremost this is not a singular plan by the Jewish religion – although certain rabbis are at the core of it. Zionism is a credo of “might is right” that is shared by members of every creed and race and religion. It is that central credo that binds the mindset of Zionism/Sionism.
It is not something so simple as the establishment of Israel as the “homeland for the Jews” as it is often explained to be. It is and has been a plot to rule the entire planet, the whole world from its inception. The Protocols therefore, transcend ‘religion’ and is a textbook on utter and total tyranny, wherein “the means are justified by the ends”.
Any philosopher or even sane mind knows that these two maxims’ ‘Might is Right’ and the justification for the means, is the thinking of psychopathic minds. Just those types who control the world today.
I can go on with this ‘introduction’, but I think it would be more beneficial for the reader to actually read the book by Reed, and it is essential to read the Protocols themselves; as it is that what is forecast therein is at the point of fruition today.
        \\][//

      14. Thanks Willy.
I had been looking in to the NATO connection into all of this and I had to keep tracking back from the 80s back to WW1! If I’m going to do justice to this area of research I’ll have to read up on the real history of the last century. Zionism is the perfect start.
And yes, Dave McGowan’s book is a must read on this subject. There’s a 75 part video on it. Seems a lot but that’s the depth of it.

      15. Dear Mr. OneSliceShort and Mr. Rogue,
I take no personal offense in what either of you has written. Just trying to clear up possible misperceptions created by speculative theorists and enemies of masonry that masonry hasn’t been historically good about correcting. In fact, historically the message to the craft was to avoid/ignore such nonsense, because to engage (1) often meant assigning more credence to the charge that it deserved and (2) could lead to flared tempers and actions less than masonic ideals.
        Mr. OneSliceShort wrote:

I was referring more to the “old boys clubs” set up within freemasonry.

I disagree with the notion that an “{old boys} clubs” set up within {freemasonry} is a bad thing or should be spun into being a bad thing. I put the curly braces around {freemasonry} because “{old boys} clubs” can be found anywhere: at the athletic club, at the golf course, at church. I put the curly braces around {old boys}, because it could just as easily be called “old farts” or “old kids”, which could be either gender and mixed. They are, or should be, a part of anyone’s life; a social network in real-life. “It takes a village to raise a child,” etc.
Gaining some advantage from the social network [e.g., a willing ear to listen to your daily gripes] goes without saying. Financial gain? As long as it isn’t illegal. Goes for other gains as well.
As far as covering for another’s illegal misteps? In Masonry, murder and treason are excepted from any secrecy pledges one brother might give another, and no brother is obligated into accepting the secrets of another. Giving a brother {or friend) due and timely notice of approaching danger doesn’t mean you obstruct the police from coming, but an advanced warning might give time to collect a toothbrush.
In today’s day and age, we probably need to distinguish between treason against the Constitution or nation and treason against the government, because they are not the same. We only need to look at when the government is itself hypocritically treasonous against the Constitution and nation.
The negative PR against freemasonry is akin to the knee-jerk reactions against Muslims (or name an organization, entity, or race). Valid cases of wayward masons, wayward lodges, etc. at any point in history are being hyped as representative of the whole and ongoing today. They are not. Given the ethical and moral lessons at the foundation of masonry, such perversions cannot be representative.
        Mr. OneSliceShort wrote:

I have no real beef with what you have to say about secret societies. Where I will step in with some re-framing is that free masonry (in the USA) isn’t a secret society. The proper, modern day framing of masonry is that it is a fraternal service organization that has some secrets. Those secrets relate to how its moral lessons are first imparted to new initiates. And even those initiation secrets aren’t, for you can find on the internet and other places the “secrets”, although the context will be missing therefore preventing a full understanding. Statements of a brother that he explicitly imparts as a masonic secret and another brother willingly accepts is a different matter. You don’t have to be a mason to feel the same sort of obligation to keep a secret imparted to you by a spouse, friend, co-worker, relative, congregation member, neighbor, mafia don, commanding officer, etc. — murder and treason excepted.
Lodges are clearly marked. It can be observed who goes in. My lodge is right across from the court house with the regular and main entrance in full view of any cameras local government might have aimed at our building. Our trestle board is mailed to the membership and posted on-line, and it lists the officers.
“A shower of promises and a banner to rally around”? With respect to masonry, if those promises have a moral, ethical, or charitable aspect, sure it might get a rally. Promises of any other earthly or worldly-wealth nature by a nefarious element? Maybe, just maybe, it might for a time sway the weaker minded farts in individual and isolated lodges, but expanding that scope to other lodges within the region and beyond the region would be most challenging, and might even lend the scheme to being exposed by those farts in other lodges who hold more closely to the core moral teachings.
        Mr. Rogue wrote:

[Joke] Mr. Rogue clearly spends way too much time reading conspiracy speculation on the “internets.” [/Joke] Such statements may apply to Scientology (or ?), and are easy for the feeble minded to believe, but do not reflect the reality of masonry, at least not in my experience or those of my brothers.
Maybe the hairsplit centers around “lodge”, which has its own masonic connotations (e.g., “blue lodges”: Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason degrees), its own organization, agendas, and processes that would make running a secondary “infiltration agenda” highly improbable. Although my involvement with “the next levels” of Masonry (e.g., Scottish and York Rite) is admittedly out of gear, I speculate that they’d be hard to undermine completely or to a large operational level as well for similiar reason. Not that something couldn’t be of interest and gain attention by a subset of the membership, the extent of its spreading and influence would be limited and completely dissappointing to all radical conspiracy thinkers on “the internets,” including myself.

        Thanks for the links.
I put the curly braces around {freemasonry} because “{old boys} clubs” can be found anywhere: at the athletic club, at the golf course, at church. They are, or should be, a part of anyone’s life; a social network in real-life. “It takes a village to raise a child,” etc.
I can tell you that the masonic lodges in the north of Ireland and Scotland contain many very influential “old farts” that do and have conspired to pass laws, protect murderers under the banner of “national security” and circle the wagons when needed. They do this in the full knowledge that the system “has their back”. Maybe it’s a set of different circumstances as we’re talking about a militarized zone (Brit intel playground) but the US is now well down that road (has been for years).
And what you say (quoted above) is exactly the point I was trying to make. I don’t buy in to entire organizations whose entire membership is involved in global or national cloak and dagger operations because it’s way too loose.
        Maybe it’s a European thing, I honestly don’t know.
The alleged Dunblane shooter, Thomas Hamilton, was a blatant case of members of masonic lodges covering their tracks and lying, for whatever reason.
Even one of their grand masters came out to defend the local lodges because fingers were being pointed:

        http://www.cremationofcare.com/images/dunblane/notw_freemason_coverup2.jpg
Again, maybe it’s a case of there being individual corrupt lodges, I don’t know.
I should expand and include not only secret (or semi secret) societies but any substantial organization, or whose membership includes people that have influence over our lives, or who have access to areas for persona non grata, are prime targets for infiltration.

      17. A comment on the Masons.
Opinions on the society of Free Masons by members themselves can be viewed in the same way as opinions on Amerika by Amerikans themselves – delusional, jingo – red, white, and blue “in my personal experience” types of psychological excuses; that is simply historically untenable. Like the history of the United States, the history of the Masons is an open record. This being true despite “national security” and despite “pledges of secrecy”.
I haven’t conversed with a Mason yet who could believe that there was a secret higher echelon to HIS particular lodge. So it isn’t a fruitful argument that takes place with the true believers of any creed; ‘Amerikan Exceptionalism’ or ‘Beneficent Masonry’, etc.

      18. WORLD REVOLUTION: THE NEW WORLD ORDER
Briefly, the background of the Bavarian Illuminati puzzle is this. On May 1, 1776, in Bavaria, Dr. Adam Weishaupt, a professor of Canon Law at Ingolstadt University and a former Jesuit, formed a secret society called the Order of the Illuminati within the existing Masonic lodges of Germany. Since Masonry is itself a secret society, the Illuminati was a secret society within a secret society, a mystery inside a mystery, so to say. In 1785 the Illuminati were suppressed by the Bavarian government for allegedly plotting to overthrow all the kings in Europe and the Pope to boot. This much is generally agreed upon by all historians. Everything else is a matter of heated, and sometimes fetid, controversy.

      19. Mr. Rogue wrote (2013-10-14):

Like the history of the United States, the history of the Masons is an open record. This being true despite “national security” and despite “pledges of secrecy”.

Under normal circumstances, I’d be giving Mr. Rogue the advice to infiltrate his local Masonic Lodges so that he could learn first hand. Too bad that the catch-22 strawman is that by becoming an infiltrator Mason, his opinion would then be that of an insider Mason and could therefore be dispensed with quickly (like Mr. Rogue does here) as being invalid and more importantly “delusional, jingo: red, white, and blue “in my personal experience” types of psychological excuses.”
Another glitch to that stupid idea of Mr. Rogue infiltrating his local Masonic Lodges (preferably ~not~ in my area) is that he has to petition for membership, be investigated, and be voted on. Although I’ve known Mr. Rogue for more than 6 months, I would ~not~ put my recommending signature onto his petition, nor would I give his investigation a favorable review if I were so unlucky to be on that committee, and probably I’d vote my first black-cube of rejection. The amply substantiated “L” word to describe Mr. Rogue seals the deal, but the “C” and “W” words don’t help recommend him either.
Meanwhile, I suppose Mr. Rogue has the right to speak through his “delusional, jingo” ignorance on the subject that pulls in from a long history of isolated instances (a) in time (b) in geography, and (c)_ in membership and extrapolates such deeds to allegedly being current and actual to today, to lodges all over the world, and to all Masons.
I view this as another over-generalization on Mr. Rogue’s part and indicative of a bad grade in Sophomore High School Composition class.
Mr. Rogue continues with his logic:

I haven’t conversed with a Mason yet who could believe that there was a secret higher echelon to HIS particular lodge.

We have no idea what Mr. Rogue’s sampling size is for all of the Masons with whom he’s conversed. Turns out it isn’t important.
Despite what Masonic insiders say, Mr. Rogue prefers to believe what he sussed out on “the internets” instead. Had Mr. Rogue been a bit more astute in his research, maybe he would have discovered some of the exact obligation text to which all new members pledge themselves at the alter. Maybe Mr. Rogue would have discovered actual text for the degrees and learned the moral significance applied to the working tools of Masonry.
“Lying” is not a virtue, and is therefore not endorsed by Masons. Truth is. “Acting on the square” is as well, and it applies not just to the brothers in Masonry but to all mankind.
Needless to say, the common belief coming from Mr. Rogue’s sampling of Masons (including me) that there is ~not~ a secret higher echelon to ~our~ particular lodges is well founded on truth (as we know it), is uttered as truth, and remains as truth… until Mr. Rogue’s “delusional, jingo” from his paranoid existence can substantiate it otherwise. Chop! Chop! Hop to it, Mr. Rogue!

So it isn’t a fruitful argument that takes place with the true believers of any creed; ‘Amerikan Exceptionalism’ or ‘Beneficent Masonry’, etc.

Or turned around another way, the true believers of any creed (e.g., science, math, truth, masonry) won’t have a fruitful discussion with non-believers, particularly with those whose slippery ethics would make difficult taking and adhering to a solemn oath to be: truthful.
In general, conversing with those who have no higher obligation to be truthful (and are known to explore this freedom) get to be tiresome to deal with.
        //

      20. Just so…
Perhaps a Mason could tell me who was correct, who was “in the right”:
Shylock, or his victim in keeping his ‘contract’ to give up his “pound of flesh”?
        \\][//

  14. All I see is a practical necessity to understand what parts of this truth/lie dichotomy we can, push to try break the spell, then SHARE in order to contest this crime against humanity. Not so easy, given that as soon as you identify IT slips away. And whatever parts of our minds
underwent whatever magical seizure by it, 911 is still a physical crime, and everyone out there working the actual empirical forensic data into argument against the creatioNIST lie, putting their names and work to throwing a grain of sand into the fine machinery of this terrible deception, is a magnificent human being.

  15. thanks barrie. i liked your 9/11 question to binnie. his answer is pure LIHOP, no? end binnie’s credibility, tho for me, he had none to begin with.
re: …“how long until we are past the stage of having the ability to effectively respond to the surveillance state”? Some might argue that it is beyond that point already, and has been for some time.” i would be one of those.
re: “Others may counter, citing Brzezinski, and his statements alluding to the elites being in a state of panic that the general populations are awakening too quickly for the fruition of the elite agenda to be completed without the engineering of great calamity and violence to achieve their Machiavellian aims.” can we take Brzezinski at face value? what is the evidence for the elites being in a state of panic? my take is that they already are in full control.
re: “If we don’t do something now,” Clement warns, “the opportunity will be missed, and we’ll regret it for a long time.” and what is it that we are TO DO, exactly? stop focusing on 9/11?
trust greenwald and snowden? i do not.
i got an email today that sent me to the link that follows the next period, and which i think is appropriate to the discussion here. http://www.globalresearch.ca/search-engine-manipulation-google-and-youtube-suppress-911-truth/5352982

    1. Hi Dennis,
The Global Research piece on ‘google’ and ‘YouTube’ manipulations, and vanishing URL linkages is most troubling, and of course has been suspected and complained of for some time now. Of course such monkey business is to be expected, and it should be highlighted with the brightest of spotlights when proven like this.
I guess this is some indication that revelation on 9/11 still worries ‘Them’ enough to keep the Memory Hole furnace fired up…
Now as far as Brzezinski is concerned. I suppose it is beneficial to reiterate that I DO begin my comments on him with; ‘Others may counter, citing Brzezinski…’
But let me be plain spoken and direct, lest I be misread:
I see no reason to “trust” Brzezinski at all. What I do think is highly lucrative is to deconstruct what comrade Brzezinski says. And in this instant I thought it critical to point out what I see as an obvious threat. What he is saying to ‘his crowd’ is that the most simple solution is their favored solution – a mass culling of “useless eaters”. And it should be noted that this is an ongoing affair, and one that is always has the potential to be expanded and quickened.
And it is coming up to Harvest Time…isn’t it?

“American federal government has set up 1,000 internment ‘death camps’ across the country and is storing 30,000 guillotines and a half-million caskets in Atlanta, according to the late FBI officer Ted Gunderson. Gunderson conveys that these camps are in place for the day the government finally declares martial law and moves in to round up or kill American dissenters. “They’re going to keep track of all of us, folks,” Gunderson warns. Existence of these concentration camps has now been confirmed by numerous researchers and mainstream news sources.”

  16. Is there then no salvation?
Is it in our power to salvage any but our own soul?
We may teach and preach, beg and badger others to wake up to what we see. But in the last reckoning; it is up to each individual themselves to take responsibility.

Coincidentally, I was talking to my gf today about how I had just posted a video on Facebook about the hypocrisy of slimeball George Osborne (UK) labelling all those out of work as the “something for nothing culture” while simultaneously fighting against the proposed cap on banker bonuses in Europe!
There was one comment on it from a family member (whose head I have been torturing lately – the poor guy has just started down the rabbit hole – God help him!). Nobody shared this info bar him. I then posted a comment saying that if I had posted a video of a dog farting in a bath it would more likely go viral, wtf??
      My gf summed it up:
“Nobody gives a crap unless their door is kicked in and they’re thrown out on the street. Maybe then they’d listen”

      1. “Nobody gives a crap unless their door is kicked in and they’re thrown out on the street. Maybe then they’d listen”
Smart girlfriend OSS, I have tried to make that point over and again.

  17. Dennis
    Practical solution?
One practical way to at least let people know that their actions have consequences is to name the individuals that make our information available and find their photograph, telephone number, e mail address, business address and home address. The latter to be used for a “camera amd microphone in their face” event.
We always talk about Verizon, Google, Yahoo, Youtube, Government, etc as being the guilty culprits but the individuals involved are never honed in on. Name and shame. Executives, mouthpieces, shareholders, politicians, MSM media figures/apologists.
An anti NSA snooping group should be formed but a “heavyweight” who can draw large numbers in is needed.
Even if scores of people initially got together they could arrange it so that all can phone the offices or homes of these people in a non abusive way en bloq, taking turns throughout the day. E mails could simultaneously be sent. All communications that achieve an end result can be recorded.
Videos can be uploaded naming these individuals and/or including the resultant recordings (depending on legalities).
Already established protest groups such as WeAreChange could attempt interviews with these people. Individuals or groups could watch out for events where the media or these individuals are to appear and surprise them with placards, t shirts, a loudspeaker.
There is a way to at least let these people feel the heat. There always has been. It’s just a matter of getting us together to actually go after them.

    1. oss,
all of what you recommend is all very well and good, and i support each and every effort, in any way i can, and participate where and when i can. my point was that this article was saying we needed to do something fast, that to stop global surveillance machine: because “only moths remain.” what are we to do in those months? all of what you suggest and/or more? was any of this identified at the conference or in the article? if the latter, have i missed it? if yes, please advise what the “TO DO” items are.
      thanks,

Just thinking out loud mate. I wasn’t rebuking you or what’s been said on this blog.

I know those numbers are to the monkeys and not the organ grinders but you get my drift.
Wouldn’t it be great to see even 20 or 30 people phoning each site almost simultaneously asking the same question? Simultaneously sending emails? Protesting outside or inside their offices? A one hour blitz on whatever chosen day, until the CEO of each site answers this single question:
There’s proof that your company is sharing and allowing access to my information. Who else bar myself has this access?
Bang on their doors, ya know?

    1. oss,
understood. i re-read the article and see that “…citizen pressure led by a coalition of organizations such as CCLA is the major hope to set back the drive by ‘intelligence’ agencies to achieve their Kafkaesque goal of ‘continuously monitoring the life of everyone in the world every day with multiple algorithms.'” this begs the question, “how?”. you offer some good ideas, but, as i see it, what’s needed is leadership and a coordinated effort in making something happen. is CCLA or any like organization actually doing anything to bring about the “major hope” — “citizen pressure?” if yes, what? if no, why not?
      –d

      1. Organizations like CCLA and any other civil rights groups, with the memberships and followers already on their books should create an umbrella online forum. No politics. No branching off into debate or other areas that will cause schisms (whether intentionally or not). Bottom line – anti NSA snooping. End of story.
        Top of my head…
Example. Verizon or any other telecommunications company that’s playing football with private info. Set a specific date for these companies to clean up their act in a transparent and verifiable way. Build up a head of steam in the months before this date through a major publicity drive with the help of alternative media sites and well known public figures who can pull in the numbers into this ant NSA snooping forum.
On this date, anybody who has an account with Verizon (or whoever) simultaneously cancels their account and moves to another provider. The “new” provider may get the same treatment. The whole point is to let Verizon see a substantial number of accounts being withdrawn.
The CEOs and local branches of Verizon (or whoever) should also be contacted by telephone, e mail or physical protest that same day. Along with local politicians, phone in shows on radio and television (no matter what the topic at hand).
Not everybody can physically protest but the telephone and computer are at arms length. Low key but constant confrontational protest is key. All we need is a solid base to organize from.
Thing is, a forum like this should have been organized years ago. A base for mass online protest. Banks screwing with us? Mass withdrawal of accounts. Gas or electric companies screwing with us? Mass withdrawal of accounts. Simple and effective.
In my wee, naive brain, I’m drifting off and imagining thousands of participants. You could tear these people up. At least tie them in knots.

  19. Aww gosh,
I hate to be a party boop boop de pooper here, but gang; Months? Months remain to stop, what? Think about what we are really talking about here…
    “Stop the global surveillance machine”???
But that is just one prong of a multi-prong mechanism. The surveillance aspect is just the input channel — the really dynamic and dangerous part of this machine is the output channels, the reactionary military and police forces — “the constabulary” as PNAC termed it.
There is the ongoing super-sized Public Relations bullhorn repeating the hypnotic mantra of electronic enchantment.
There is in fact THE MATRIX. Not the science fiction movie, but the sci-fi reality of all of the super technological horrors predicted and manifest.
We need a really big and novel IDEA.
Like the lady in the song said, “I got a spot that makes me hot, but you ain’t been there yet”

I’m not that naive man! I’m talking more of coming into the backyard of those who enable mass spying and who’ve never had the spotlight on them, and banging on their windows.

      1. Yo OSS,
I never would contend that you are naive.
If we are talking doing the Ninja thing…well I am a bit beyond my prime to partake in such.
However, I will verily make a toast with my java cup and bless all who would rise to that occasion.
Some would disagree with me here, but this is not the kind of thing that should be organized, nor promoted. This is best accomplished by the tactic of what is called, “The Leaderless Resistance” — seemingly spontaneous rogue actions — like, outta the blue love comes rushing in. Out of left field no more fear.
No, I wouldn’t encourage calling for organized physical resistance in such a fully outfitted and up-and-running surveillance state as we are now cursed with.
Just keep in mind you are talking about ‘Gated Communities’ of the motes with alligators kind…
        Ja?

I can answer him in part at least. Yes the question “What can we do?” was asked. It ALWAYS is, at public meetings like this at least. And the usual reply is: “There’s no one answer. Each person must decide what skills or other resources he or she has, and use them.” And that is not a silly or evasive reply.
I checked my notes and see that this classic (and important) question was specifically asked, in the final session, by a woman who took to the microphone and said: “Once people learn … then what do they do about it?” The elipses are mine — where I didn’t have time to copy down her exact words. Her question in fact needs to be re-asked time and again, because all sorts of parameters, including ourselves, keep changing.
She got a bit more than the usual reply from a person associated with a civil liberties organization suggesting that some co-ordination is taking place. I’d add more but I don’t want to help the NSA, that has the resources to monitor the likes of this blog and take even a snippet of a splinter and cross-blend it to sharpen its targeting of “hostile forces.”

  22. As McLuhan pointed out, the big things need not be hidden, but are in plain sight, the public’s incredulity is what keeps it from their notice. The agenda is verily shouted from the rooftops in historical literature. The modus operandi is described in great detail. In fact that which is supposedly hidden by the ‘Secret Societies’ is as open a secret as all else. The MO of the cult of intelligence for the state is so fully understood that ‘circumstantial’ charges are simple to make. This is standard racket science, gum shoe street smarts.
But it is all invisible from INSIDE the paradigm, for it is a type of box. A box constructed in the mind by programming and conditioning. It is a trance, an enchantment, as powerful as any fairytale story about wizards and dragons.
In fact the Paradigm itself is a carefully designed myth, using all the emotional cues of any mythos. And even THIS is part of its power, for those who hear the real story think it sounds too much like a fairytale to be true—this is their double-bind.
It is reasonable and so, that there has never been a person who has been successfully brainwashed who believed they were brainwashed. It lies within the definition of the word itself. That the vast majority are immersed in the myth and unaware that the pretense is proven by the fact that the system of appearances is maintained.
This is the crux of the problem that the crux of the matter reveals.
As utterly horrific as the matter itself is, the problem it has manifest is even more so,
the majority of the people are automatons responding to media and social cues and have no control over their destiny.
It is that horror envisioned by the film, THE INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS.

When the real financial meltdown takes place, more than just the short order cooks will be roaming the streets looking for roadkill. Something novel this way comes.

  24. “Soon, Drones May Be Able to Make Lethal Decisions on Their Own – 08 Oct 2013 Eventually, drones may have the technical ability to make even lethal decisions autonomously: to respond to a programmed set of inputs, select a target and fire their weapons without a human reviewing or checking the result. Yet the idea of the U.S. military deploying a lethal autonomous robot, or LAR, is sparking controversy. The basic conceit behind a LAR is that it can outperform and out think a human operator.”

  25. “The “shutdown” of the US government and the financial climax associated with a deadline date, leading to a possible “debt default” of the federal government is a money making undertaking for Wall Street.
Several overlapping political and economic agendas are unfolding. Is the shutdown –implying the furloughing of tens of thousands of public employees– a dress rehearsal for the eventual privatization of important components of the federal State system?”~ Prof Michel Chossudovsky Global Research, October 12, 2013
“A staged default, bankruptcy and privatization is occurring in Detroit (with the active support of the Obama administration), whereby large corporations become the owners of municipal assets and infrastructure.
The important question: is a process of “State bankruptcy” –which is currently afflicting local level governments across the land– possible in the case of the central government of the United States of America?
Will this gamut of deadly macro-economic reforms engineered by Wall Street and the Federal Reserve be conducive to widespread civil disorder across the United States?
While the declaration of a national emergency or martial law is not envisaged, reports confirm that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is currently “engaged in acquiring heavily armored tanks, which have been seen roaming the streets.” In the words of Ellen Brown, “somebody in government is expecting some serious civil unrest…”” ~Ibid

  28. Review of “September 11 – The New Pearl Harbor.” A documentary by Massimo Mazzucco.
    David Ray Griffin
There have been several good films and videos about 9/11. But the new film by award-winning film-maker Massimo Mazzucco is in a class by itself.
For those of us who have been working on 9/11 for a long time, this is the film we have been waiting for.

    1. I watched the Pentagon portion of that film.
I thought that even without mentioning the NoC witnesses, the film did a superlative job at explaining how a 757 couldn’t have crashed at the Pentagon, by analyzing the physical damage more extensively than most other films have.
However, I was a tad disappointed that the film took it as a foregone conclusion that the light poles were downed in real time by some sort of an airborne object, when the evidence clearly points to staged damage.
I find it interesting that when the narrator presents “the debunkers'” arguments, when it comes to the arguments in favor of a 757 crash, the arguments are the arguments used not just by the JREFers but by people like Jim Hoffman as well. Exact same arguments.
Isn’t it funny how when full blown anti-truthers like the JREFers present such arguments, people can see them for the hollow arguments they are. But when the exact same arguments are presented by the likes of Jim Hoffman and Frank Legge, it’s because they’re being “responsible truthers” who deeply care about the credibility and public image of the truth movement.
Overall, it is indeed a very riveting film and I can see why DRG said that many would want to watch all 5 hours in 1 sitting.

      1. Adam, I am glad to see you report on the Pentagon section of Mazzucco’s documentary.
I have such a horrendous pay scale to watch long videos on www that I am going to have to order the DVDs and watch them on my sans-computer set up. I am more encouraged to do so now with your review.
        Thank you,

      2. i’ve watched part one and the pentagon portion, which is at the beginning of part two, at least on the links i have. so far, there’s a lot of mainstream-type language used in the film that i would not have used without prefacing it with “allegedly” or “supposedly” but i’ve been able to get past that. i agree with Adam’s take on the pentagon portion, i.e., “The film did a superlative job at explaining how a 757 couldn’t have crashed at the Pentagon, by analyzing the physical damage…” i too was disappointed that “the film took it as a foregone conclusion that the light poles were downed in real time by some sort of an airborne object…” i look forward to watching the rest of this encyclopedic documentary.

    2. i just finished watching the entire film (over the course of a few nights). in short, excellent overall. very well put together. no major complaints.
especially impressive was how fairly and objectively the film dealt with the debunkers and their arguments, while still taking them apart in a(n undeservedly?) respectful way.
a couple of things i found surprising:
      (1) no mention of the nanothermite controversy (unless i dozed off at an inopportune moment, don’t think i did–and whenever i dozed off and later woke up, i went back to where i had left off).
      (2) also, during the building 7 segment (third cd, at around the 1:16:00 mark), when airing the clip of the bbc announcing the collapse of building 7 while it was still standing in the background, the film’s narrator says that this bbc event has led to “ludicrous conspiracy theories” that the media had advance knowledge of the collapse of building. “in truth,” we are told, what happened was that the foreknowledge information had been circulating in downtown manhattan long enough so that it reached the bbc before building 7 collapsed. the implication being that the bbc just got the timing wrong, i.e., the foreknowledge information was misconstrued by bbc as being a report that the collapse had already occurred, which is plausible, but the phrase “ludicrous conspiracy theories” struck me as out of place.
the film ends on a strange and emotional note, with the clip of now deceased first responder david miller imploring his live and film audience to “avenge us.”
at the url that follows, the film can be seen for free, and is indexed. http://www.luogocomune.net/site/modules/sections/index.php?op=viewarticle&artid=167

  29. Noam Chomsky shills for the establishment re 9/11 Truth
He refers to the 2079 architects and engineers who’ve signed Gage’s petition as a “miniscule” number and refers to the nanothermite evidence as “some rumor on the internet.”
He said that if 9/11 were an inside job, the hijackers would have been Iraqi.*
He said that if the “miniscule” number of A’s and E’s are so confident in their findings, they should present them to the scientists at MIT, who should have no trouble accepting them.
But most importantly, he said something that really just spits in the face of the likes of Steven Jones and Kevin Barrett. A commenter on FB summed it up perfectly:
“How can anyone listen to this drivel from Chomsky and not recognize that he is a stooge? He just stood there and claimed, with a straight face, that it takes no courage to take a stand in academia that is unpopular with the powers that be!!!! Yes, he said that with a straight face!! And the audience applauded this absurd claim as if it was a self-evident truth, offered like roses from the lips of Buddha!”
    Another commenter said:
“So many false dilemmas/arguments. What nonsense. He speaks as if there’s no institutional push back. Tell that to Dr. Jones. He knows almost nothing of the subject, yet this does not deter his strong opinions. An intellectual disgrace.”
Try not to gag too hard…

  30. Chomsky is serious, he actually believes his own bullshit. It is Doublethink, and for academiacs it works marvelously, and results in the Newspeak we just heard come out of his mouth.
Of course everything he said there is easily debunked by anyone knowing the real facts of the matter. Chomsky is so past his sell date that he should have been taken off the shelf decades ago. The ignorant audience lapping up that septic spew are even more despicable than that pathetic old man.
    \\][//

    1. I’m starting to come to the conclusion that the more “academic pedigree” a person has (and I’m referring to the audience members as well as Noam), the more easily brainwashed they are capable of being.
Whenever I’ve done street events, it’s clearly the “working class” who totally have no problem grasping 9/11 truth, particularly ethnic minorities. The white men in suits and ties, working in those downtown skyscrapers and making big bucks… they’re the ones who walk past uncomfortably and pretend not to notice us.
Gas station employees in the ghetto have no trouble understanding the towers were blown up, whereas the people who did well in high school and are now attending a fine university tell themselves, “Well if Noam Chomsky along with the scientists at MIT don’t dispute the official version, they must be right, because they’re all so smart.”

      1. Dear Mr. Syed, you put some words into the mouths of the college educated:

“Well if … the scientists at MIT don’t dispute the official version, they must be right, because they’re all so smart.”

The flip-side of this statement also bears scrutiny, and it relates to the scientists at MIT also ~not~ endorsing the official version. Most had no reason to publicly question it, knowing on which side their bread (research funding) is buttered on.
Moreover, when some scientists seemingly were endorsing the official version, in many cases what was happening was they were given a stilted premise and money to prove its plausibility. “Why, sure, I can draw a plausible connection between tritium levels draining from the WTC and airplane exit signs, weapons sights, and time pieces.” Such stilted scopes at the onset does not mean that their fine work documents the truth.
        //

      2. Yea Mr Syed, that is what I mean by the term academiacs. Antony Sutton talks about this at great length in his book of Skull and Bones. He refers to it as a ‘sausage mind’ that is, linked like sausages. Others refer to it as ‘group-think’. It is especially prevalent in the houses of “higher learning” although the seeds for it are laid Kindergarten to University, and promoted by the PR machine relentlessly.
Someone said, “It is not so much ignorance, but so much that you “know” that just isn’t so, that is the problem.” And that seems to be it on the money…er the funny money.
Prussian schooling…that was the import that really squished the American free thinkers and put the “K” in Amerika.
        \\][//

      3. Iserbyt, Sutton and Gatto, have all documented the imposition of the Prussian system of mandatory prison-house schooling of the population for the means of regimentation of a society.
        \\][//

      4. “The “misappropriation” of those documents was not the work of some “true patriots” as Noam Chomsky wrote in 1972. Rather it was an inside job. That ISA office had been the home of many of the “big names” of the Vietnam War period, among them Paul H. Nitze, John T. McNaughton, Paul C. Warnke and William Bundy, among others. The fact that I had many of them in my office, that I had worked with them, and that I had written parts of some of them proves that they were not genuine Pentagon papers, because my work at that time was devoted to support of the CIA. The same is true of General Krulak, William Bundy, and to a degree, Maxwell Taylor among others.”~Fletcher Prouty — The Secret Team, 1997
        \\][//

  31. Jacques Ellul – PROPAGANDA
“A related point central in Ellul’s thesis, is that modem propaganda cannot work without “education”; he thus reverses the widespread notion that education is the best prophylactic against propaganda. On the contrary he says “education” or what usually goes by that word in the modem world, is the prerequisite for propaganda. In Fact, “education” is largely identical with what Ellul calls “pre-propaganda”—the conditioning of minds with vast amounts of incoherent information, already dispensed for ulterior purposes and posing as ‘facts* and as “education” Ellul follows through by designating intellectuals as virtually the most vulnerable of all to modern propaganda, for three reasons: (1 ) they absorb the largest amount of secondhand, unverifiable information; (2) they feel a compelling need to have an opinion on every important question of Our time, and thus easily succumb to opinions offered to them by propaganda on all such indigestible pieces of information; (3 ) they consider themselves incapable of judging for themselves. They literally need propaganda.”~Konrad Kellen – Introduction 1965
    \\][//

    1. For those with a mind for correlation, what is said above can hearken back to O’Brian, Winston Smith’s nemesis in Orwell’s 1984.
      \\][//

  32. Just popping out of my new rabbit hole for a moment…
Yeah I watched the Pentagon section of that new video (posted at Pilots) and gave kudos there for the excellent breakdown on the inconsistencies on the damage but as usual 9/11 “politics” got in the way and the NOC witnesses were totally ignored. I know that the author must be aware of them because some Italian researchers have done amazing work on the Pentagon (including verifying Steve Riskus as an NOC witness in an online interview last year).
As for Chomsky, the guy appears in multiple videos on Palestine, Israeli influence on the US, in depth discussions on US imperialism and corporatism. He speaks very eloquently and rationally on these subjects. Talk about JFK and 9/11 and he flip flops like a sea lion trying to negotiate a spiral staircase!
Ironically he wrote a book about “filters” within all of the major corporations from media through to industry laying out the methods by which truth and non conformist opinions are suppressed and eradicated from (the way I understand it) the “shop floor” to the executive offices. Each level filters out the truth on the way down or on the way up.
Chomsky, like most of “academia”, play a central role in that filtering. The same “don’t rock the boat” mentality that the genuine truthseekers within the 9/11 movement “leadership” have been bound to over the last few years.
    Sad.
