Attempts to rein in the power of the NSA will have to originate outside the U.S.A.: Ben Wizner.

By Barrie Zwicker (Special to Truth and Shadows)
We know massive surveillance has nothing to do with actual terrorism – that it is all about control and eliminating dissent. We know that the surveillance state knows more about us than we ourselves know.
But do we know how long may be the window of opportunity to achieve some real curbs on runaway surveillance, before a New Dark Ages is entrenched beyond all resistance?
It could be only “a few months” in the opinion of Professor Andrew Clement of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information.
“If we don’t do something now,” Clement warns, “the opportunity will be missed, and we’ll regret it for a long Continue reading

Truth and Shadows launches exclusive Barrie Zwicker series on false flags, the most destructive of deceptions

By Craig McKee
It was suggested to me some months ago by a reader that the name of the 9/11 Truth movement should be changed to the False Flag Awareness movement.
While I didn’t think the suggestion was very practical (how do you go about changing the name of a movement?), the idea of putting 9/11 in the larger context of false flags stayed with me. Not only would it help people to understand what the event was really all about, but it also would show how 9/11 is not unique but instead part of a continuum that goes back centuries.
It makes sense to me that we should work to raise awareness that events like 9/11 are not isolated or outside of the normal pattern of manipulation and control by the powerful over the powerless, they are business as Continue reading

‘Gatekeeper’ documentary fails 9/11 litmus test, hides deeper media crimes

shadows_liberty
This is a review of the documentary film Shadows of Liberty; 93 minutes; PG; Jean-Philippe Tremblay, United Kingdom, director; 2012; distributed by KinoSmith Inc.

By Barrie Zwicker (Special to Truth and Shadows)
I’m hard-pressed not to see Shadows of Liberty as other than a bait-and-switch job, a false flag op that seeks to marshal audience confidence if not admiration by blowing the whistle on a handful of media crimes not widely known to the general public, but that in the end distracts audiences from much larger media crimes, particularly media complicity in the cover-up of the truth about 9/11.
Because so few documentaries take on the corpstream media energetically, for the “average viewer” this one might rate Continue reading

Standing up for unpopular truths about 9/11 comes at a cost

By Craig McKee
Is standing up for what you believe worth losing friends over?
Sometimes those friends don’t give you a choice. Other times, you can decide to stay away from certain subjects with certain people.
Recently I parted ways with two people I’ve known for more than a quarter of a century. Admittedly, we haven’t hung out for some time, but we do have a history. I don’t think we’re going to be adding to it, though.
In fact, there are five people I connected with on Facebook who are no longer among my online friends. The short version of the story is that they don’t much like my opinion that 9/11 was an inside job and a Continue reading

Truth and consensus: jury still out on Griffin's new 9/11 expert panel

By Craig McKee

Maybe we should start calling it the 9/11 Consensus Movement.
Recent developments in the struggle to widely expose the truth about the fake “terrorist attacks” of Sept. 11, 2001 have focused on apparent efforts to overcome divisions between different factions in the movement. Ironically, these attempts at consensus have themselves been highly controversial.
The latest, and possibly most consequential, move towards consensus is the creation of a collection of experts in a panel called “Consensus 911: The 9/11 Best Evidence Panel.”
The group, announced in September, was put together by prolific 9/11 researcher and author David Ray Continue reading

How we’re programmed not to look ‘behind the curtain’

“You’ve just seen behind a curtain you weren’t even supposed to know existed.” – Richardson in The Adjustment Bureau.

By Craig McKee

They are partners in propaganda, collaborators in control.
The mainstream news media and Hollywood movie studios are cogs in a powerful machine that conditions us to accept a world view favourable to the global corporate elite.
Most of us are not even aware we’re being conditioned; we don’t see how we’re being Continue reading

Toronto G20 a year later: when Canada became a police state

By Craig McKee

In true Orwellian fashion, masked rioters were allowed free reign to go on a destructive rampage while peaceful protesters were beaten, rounded up and denied any semblance of their civil rights.
The scene was Toronto, Canada’s largest city, and the event was the G20 Summit held June 26-27, 2010. The event – for which security cost in the vicinity of $1 billion – led to the largest mass arrest in Canadian history. It was an exercise in crushing dissent, and it left the impression that those in power are only willing to support free speech until people most need to exercise it.
While police were allowing the masked Black Bloc rioters to destroy anything they wanted, they weren’t shy about beating and arresting peaceful protestors. In fact, they arrested many who weren’t even protesting, but who were just trying to walk down the street. One journalist, despite identifying himself, was punched Continue reading

Pentagon lied about having 9/11 video then refused to release it

March 2, 2011

By Craig McKee

It’s one of the largest and most secure buildings in the world. It is the nerve center for the U.S. military. It has hundreds of security cameras both inside and outside the building. But apparently you can fly an airliner into the side of it without being caught on tape.
That’s what I call a blind spot. But this is the story we are being asked to swallow about what happened at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. On a day of outrageous fabrications, this is one of the most absurd. What’s even more incredible is that some people – even some 9/11 truthers – accept it. (The plane hit the building, there are no videos, you are getting very sleepy…)
It wasn’t the first lie concerning the Pentagon “impact” and possible video evidence, however. Initially, the Pentagon denied having any video footage of the alleged impact of Flight 77. They would later change their tune and release five frames in 2002 taken from north of the alleged impact site.
The official story of 9/11 actually asks us to swallow a lot of impossible stuff: the collapse of the three towers because of “fire”; the failure of the military to intercept even one allegedly hijacked airliner; the burying of Flight 93 in a field in Pennsylvania; devout Muslims who take drugs and use prostitutes; a failed Continue reading

The assault on CIT: Who is really undermining 9/11 truth?

Where’s the plane? Why do some “truthers” say a 757 crashed into the Pentagon?

February 6, 2011

By Craig McKee

A lot of people think they know what’s good for the 9/11 Truth movement. Many of the same people think they also know what’s bad for it. And virtually everyone claims they really want to find the truth about what happened on Sept. 11, 2001.
But how many of them really do?
If you depend on the web site 911Blogger.com – the supposed gold standard of 9/11 sites – you’d think that the greatest obstacle to finding the truth is two guys from California named Craig Ranke and Aldo Marquis. Under the name Citizen Investigation Team, they’ve spent several years analyzing what happened at the Pentagon on 9/11.
As the result of their research, Ranke and Marquis believe that a commercial airliner did approach the Pentagon shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 but on a different flight path than the official story contends. They have conducted video Continue reading

London 7/7 bombings follow 'successful' Kennedy, 9/11 playbooks

By Craig McKee

When something works, why change?
The price of not scrutinizing the evidence in horrifying acts of destruction, terrorism, and murder is that they just keep happening. If the perpetrators get away with it once, there’s no reason they wouldn’t keep going to the same formula that has worked in the past.
With the help of the mainstream media, we keep believing the lies we’re fed. And we keep paying a terrible price.
John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 by his own government, and we believed the flimsy scenario that a lone nut named Lee Harvey Oswald did it. Although the evidence overwhelmingly shows that Oswald was a patsy who was set up to take the fall, our newspapers and television programs still refer to him as the man who shot JFK. No trial, no proof. No matter.
We know that Franklin D. Roosevelt provoked and allowed the attack on Pearl Harbor to take place to create public support for getting into World War II. The wishes of the people were not to be listened to, they were to be manufactured. While America was officially outraged at the brutal invasions of the Nazis, American corporations were enthusiastically doing business with them, helping to keep the war machine humming.
JFK wanted to pull soldiers out of Vietnam. He also wanted the U.S. government to start printing its own money for the first time since the private Federal Reserve came into existence in 1913. Both bad news for the power elite that is used to Continue reading
