What we should have learned from Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty

USS-Liberty-New

This article, posted originally on Truth and Shadows in June 2016, has been updated for the 50th anniversary of the attack on the U.S.S. Liberty (June 8, 2017).

It is one of the greatest lies that most Americans – in fact most people around the world – have never heard of. And it reveals much about the true relationship between the United States and one of its “closest allies,” the State of Israel.
This was an act of war — a false flag attack, a mass execution, a war crime, a gross betrayal, and the beginning of an exercise in deception and propaganda that continues to this day.
It was 50 years ago that Israel launched a shocking and brutal attack on an American intelligence ship, the USS Liberty, as it cruised in international waters Continue reading

Gaza, Syria, militarized cops, and 'lone-wolf' shootings: during a brutal year, 9/11 truth held its own

Gaza people

The people of Gaza experienced real terrorism during a siege that left 2,100 dead.

Gaza, ISIS, Syria, Ukraine, Ferguson, militarized cops, Malaysian planes, torture, drones, and “lone-wolf” shootings. It has been a tough year for the truth.
But in the midst of all the deception and brutality, it has been an intriguing year for the struggle to expose the lies of 9/11. The elusive breakthrough that 9/11 truthers fantasize about may not be coming any time soon, but there are encouraging signs on a number of fronts. There were also some disappointments, but even those don’t seem so bad if you subscribe to the idea that there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
A major highlight was the spectacular sight of an 89-foot wide electronic billboard in New York City’s Times Square repeatedly showing the destruction of WTC 7 throughout the month of September. An estimated two million New Continue reading

Lie becomes truth: Palestinians blamed for being oppressed, killed, and robbed of their land

Gaza smoke

Orwellian.
That’s how I can best describe in a single word the perpetual propaganda war that accompanies the oppression and repeated slaughters of Palestinian civilians by Israel. The victims are painted as terrorists; the oppressors are painted as victims who are just defending themselves.
Yes, I get it: Hamas is firing homemade rockets into Israel. This practice has killed 28 Israeli civilians since 2001. But how many Palestinians have the Israeli armed forces killed over those 13 years? How about the past 13 days?
Each Israeli death is a tragedy for those killed and their families. And I feel for those who are traumatized by the rocket attacks – however unlikely it is that they’ll actually be hurt by them. But stress felt by Israelis over these rockets is hardly comparable to massacres unleashed on the Palestinians in Gaza three times in the past five years not to mention the theft of land and denial of basic rights they have endured for the Continue reading

Truther-friendly Canadian thriller pulls back curtain on elites' agenda

The Conspiracy posterThe Conspiracy: Written and directed by Christopher MacBride; starring Aaron Poole and James Gilbert; 84 minutes; to be released in the U.S.A. on August 8.
By Barrie Zwicker (Special to Truth and Shadows)
Is The Conspiracy a motion picture about a larger picture in slow motion – namely what’s usually called the New World Order?
Or is it meant to gently mock that idea?
Only writer/director Christopher MacBride knows for sure. But the ambiguity of a movie that is a mash-up of documentary and thriller/horror genres leaves room for MSM reviewers to be less hostile than they otherwise would be to the script, in which JFK’s assassination, the sinking of the Lusitania, the alleged Gulf of Tonkin incident, and 9/11 all are presented as “inside jobs,” and it is observed that these usually precede wars. The 'war on terror' isn't real, but the illusion is: False flags part 2

truman_show_scrn

In The Truman Show, Truman discovers that an illusion is the only reality he has ever known.

This is Part 2 of Barrie Zwicker’s exclusive Truth and Shadows series on false flag operations. False flags revised

Part 2: Maximum Illusion Time
Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.  Charles MacKay in the1852 preface [1] to his book Extraordinary Popular Delusions & the Madness of Crowds

Where madness is concerned there’s always been a contagion effect, as Charles MacKay suggested in 1852. But in recent times, global power elites have increasingly been able to inject herds with particular madnesses.
The predominant one of these is the “war on terror.” [2]
In a sane world a question widely and repeatedly posed would be whether there is such a phenomenon as the “war on terror” as presented (for instance in newspaper headlines, TV news, speeches by “leaders,” most Continue reading

Truth and Shadows launches exclusive Barrie Zwicker series on false flags, the most destructive of deceptions

By Craig McKee
It was suggested to me some months ago by a reader that the name of the 9/11 Truth movement should be changed to the False Flag Awareness movement.
While I didn’t think the suggestion was very practical (how do you go about changing the name of a movement?), the idea of putting 9/11 in the larger context of false flags stayed with me. Not only would it help people to understand what the event was really all about, but it also would show how 9/11 is not unique but instead part of a continuum that goes back centuries.
It makes sense to me that we should work to raise awareness that events like 9/11 are not isolated or outside of the normal pattern of manipulation and control by the powerful over the powerless, they are business as Continue reading

Lessons of war: an aging peacenik reflects on Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day 1

By Barrie Zwicker (Special to Truth and Shadows)

As we have almost every year for many years, my wife and I this past November 11th attended the Remembrance Day commemoration at Toronto’s Old City Hall. We’ve seen the crowds grow ever larger
This year we and our daughter had to leave our homes more than an hour and a half before the eleventh hour in order to secure what would have been a good view, had not a solid bank of camerapersons’ backsides all but obstructed it.
Our main reason for joining the commemoration is that Jeanie’s father, Charles, who volunteered and served in the Canadian Army in the Second World War, was killed in the final days of the war in Holland. The reverberations from his death continue, as do the family reverberations for all those killed Continue reading
